Life

The stone in grave E16 of the Prescott Post lot has been read only as far as GEO. C. CARL; the man it names is not yet identified. No date of death has been read from it. [1]

The stone's GEO. C. CARL matches the PV001 list's George C. Carl, died 1906, with no unit given. The index search for Rhode Island found no Carl. The unit and date lines are under earth. [2]

A 2022 list of Civil War veterans buried at North Burial Ground gives his death as 1906. [3]

His service record, any pension file, and his life before and after the war have not yet been researched. This page will grow as the records are read.
